Being More: Meet Moroccan-based adventure specialist Simo Hadji
A born and bred Marrakshi with a zest for travel, Simo is one of the founding members of Epic, as Logistics manager he remains critical to adventure tours in Morocco, when he’s not doing that he’s travelling the world expanding his horizons, and capturing all his adventures on camera and video.
Where it all started…
“I was one of the first team members, I joined in November 2011 when I was 19, back then it was Epic’s early days, I was mostly doing cycling and hiking tours with Charlie with just a few leisure trips”

What he’s doing now…
“My job title is ‘Groups & logistic Manager’, I’m in charge of the adventure tours in Morocco which includes all the detailed back-of-house work involved in planning and organising them, as well as accompanying clients on trips to make sure everything runs smoothly and that there is someone on the ground to help alongside the guides. Epic is about bespoke travel so each trip has it’s own unique challenges.
“I have other jobs too which fit my passions, like managing the media gallery, and offering hands on support on the ground at events and other private pop-up activities such as picnics.
What do you love about your job?
“I am thrilled that my job allows me to find a happy balance between working in the office and out in the field. It brings me immense satisfaction to work in an area that I am genuinely passionate about and to have the opportunity to cultivate and grow that passion further as part of the epic family.”
Favourite regions of Morocco?
“Getting this across quickly might be a challenge, given Morocco’s vast diversity in landscapes and weather. The suitability of certain destinations largely depends on the season. Nevertheless, I can suggest a few places I personally enjoy. For instance, during the winter, Ifrane is a great choice with vast cedar forests and fresh mountain air, while the northern mountains and coast are perfect for summer. In autumn and spring, the Atlas Mountains offer breath-taking views. The desert is of course an all year round favourite location for relaxing.

Global travel is a passion…
“In my free time, I engage in extensive traveling and exploration to broaden my horizons. I have explored numerous regions within Morocco and have acquired a deep understanding of its diverse landscape. Furthermore, my insatiable curiosity has led me to venture beyond the borders of Morocco, immersing myself in the rich cultures and traditions of various countries.
“To date, I have visited many captivating destinations such as Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Russia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Iceland, Albania and Lithuania.”
